Michael Kröher

Michael Kröher , also the author's name: Michael OR Kröher (* 1956 in Pirmasens ) is a non-fiction author and journalist with a focus on science, automobiles and business, previously also popular music and medicine.

Career

Kröher was born as the eldest child of the folk singer Heinrich Kröher (1927-2016). After graduating from high school in mathematics and science in 1975, he began studying human medicine in Hamburg and Auckland / NZ in 1983 as a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation . He graduated in 1989 with a medical examination and doctorate (1990).

From 1979 to 1981 Kröher was a volunteer at the music magazine Sounds , then an editor at twen . He financed his medical studies as a freelancer at Die Zeit , Geo , Süddeutsche Zeitung and TransAtlantik, among others . From 1983 on he wrote reports and essays for Merkur - German magazine for European thinking and everyday life - sensational paper of the ordinary , contributions to anthologies by Michael Rutschky ( Suhrkamp-Verlag , S. Fischer Verlag ) and for Rowohlt-Verlag . From 1989 Kröher was editor at Stern , from 1990 head of department for science, environment and medicine. In 1995 he moved to Berlin as the founding editor-in-chief of the online platform Lifeline and was a member of the management team at Bertelsmann-Springer Gesundheitsgesellschaft mbH . From 1997 he took over the department for science and technology at Die Woche in Hamburg. Kröher has been an editor at manager-magazin since 1999, and has also been an editor at Harvard Business Manager since 2018 . In 2009 Kröher was the initiator of the Hall of Fame for German Research , which he has been responsible for editorially and organizationally since then; since 2001 he is the author of the motor column exit .

Michael Kröher lives in Berlin.
