Michael Madsen (born January 24, 1974 in Frederiksberg ) is a former Danish football player .

Career

Madsen played in his youth for Boldklubben Avarta, Albertslund IF and Valby Boldklub. In the senior sector, he started at Akademisk BK and in 1998 moved to Serie A for FC Bari 1908, for which he played 44 league games until 2001, in which he scored a goal. In 2001 he moved to the Bundesliga for VfL Wolfsburg and played three Bundesliga games. After he could not prevail in the first team, he also played four times for the amateur team and was loaned to Farum Boldklub in 2002/03. In 2003 he left VfL and moved permanently to Hellerup IK, where he ended his active career in 2006. In 2009 he played again for Vanlöse IF for half a year.

In 2007 he became sporting director at FC Amager, where he worked as a coach from 2008. From 2009 to 2011 he was a trainer at Vanlöse IF and 2012 co-trainer under Bo Henriksen at Brönshöj BK, from 2013 to 2017 he was employed at Greve IF, first as a trainer, then as a sports director, then again as a trainer. He has been a trainer at Akademisk BK since January 1, 2018.
