Michael Nißl (born November 3, 1964 in Leverkusen ) is a former German football player in the position of goalkeeper .

career

Nißl came from 1. FC Köln's own A-youth team , with whom he was able to become German A-junior runner-up in 1983 . He then received a professional contract. For three years, the goalkeeper was in the shadow of the then national goalkeeper Toni Schumacher . At times, the talented youngster was only the third goalkeeper; first behind Gerry Ehrmann and then behind Bodo Illgner , who was promoted to the professional squad from his own A-youth in 1985. Only in one DFB-Pokal game did he come into play when Schumacher had to be replaced injured in the 67th minute. The Cologne team won 8-0 against the Stuttgarter Kickers in the first round . When the score was 6: 0 Nißl had to go into the goal. In 1986 he left the Rhinelander and went into the amateur field. With the SC Köln-Brück he was in 1988 and 1991 each association league champion and rose to the Oberliga Nordrhein .
