Michael Peters (* 1971 in Flensburg ) is a French - German media manager .

Life

Peters was born in Flensburg to a French mother and a German father. The mother was a teacher and the father was a soldier in the German Air Force . After their parents divorced, Peters moved to Lyon, France, with his mother .

He studied finance in Lyon and graduated in 1995. From 1995 to 1998 he worked for the Lyon auditing firm Arthur Andersen. In 1998 Peters took up a position in the finance department of the Euronews television station in Lyon, and from 2000 he was head of the finance department. At the end of 2003, Peters was promoted to deputy managing director of the station. In May 2005 he became Euronews Managing Director and in December 2011, he succeeded Philippe Cayla as  Chairman of the Board.
