Philippe Cayla
Philippe Cayla (* 1949 ) headed the television channel Euronews from 2003 to the end of 2011 . He graduated from the École des Mines de Paris , the Institut d'études politiques de Paris and the École nationale d'administration .
He was first a civil servant in the French Ministry of Foreign Trade, then a technical advisor to the French Minister for Foreign Trade, Michel Jobert .
From 1985 to 1992 Cayla, who speaks four other languages in addition to French and German , was Director and Deputy Managing Director at Matra Marconi Space . In 1993 he worked for Eutelsat and in 2000 for France Télévisions . From 2003 to 2011 Cayla was chairman of the board of directors of the television channel Euronews and from 2011 president of Euronews Development as well as a member of the Euronews supervisory board.
He is married to Véronique Cayla , president of arte, and has two children.
