from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Michael Pohl (* 1943 in Bochum ) is a German metallurgical expert and emeritus professor for materials testing at the Ruhr University Bochum .

Life and career

Michael Pohl studied metallurgy at RWTH Aachen University . In 1965 he became a member of the Corps Marko-Guestphalia Aachen . After completing his studies as a Dipl.-Ing. from 1970 to 1985 he was a research assistant and deputy head of the community laboratory for electron microscopy. In 1977 he was unstabilized Electron microscopic studies on the precipitation behavior fully austenitic stainless steels in the temperature range of 500 to 800 ° C . to Dr.-Ing. PhD . In 1985 Pohl moved to the Ruhr University in Bochum, where he held the chair for materials testing at the Institute for Materials until his retirement in 2011. He was also a member of the Senate for 14 years, in the meantime as its chairman.
