Michael (Mihalo) Puhalo von Brlog (* 1818 in Brlog , Croatia ; † March 6, 1913 ibid) was a Croatian officer in the Imperial Austrian Army with the Hungarian title of nobility .

Because of his bravery, he was honored and promoted to sergeant , then officer and raised to the nobility . He was the father of the later famous Colonel General Paul Puhallo von Brlog .

Michael Puhalo entered the military as a simple soldier and was awarded the Golden Medal of Bravery for outstanding performance . In addition, on August 21, 1849 he was "exceptionally" promoted to second class lieutenant . In 1859 he was promoted to second lieutenant, first class, but had to retire on December 31, 1861 because of the many war injuries he had suffered.

In 1908 he was knighted on the occasion of his 90th birthday. As a citizen of Croatia, he was appointed to the Hungarian nobility with the title "von Brlog". On August 6, 1910, he received "as a sign of the highest grace" the honorary promotion to senior lieutenant in retirement with title and character.

He died at the old age of 95 in his home in Brlog.

His younger son Isaak also aspired to a military career, but he had to be dismissed from the army as first lieutenant in the artillery as early as 1897 as a result of an accident at work.
