Michael Rosenhoff

Michael Rosenhoff (born August 8, 1963 in Kassel ) is a German double bass player .

Life

Michael Rosenhoff completed a degree in church music with a C-exam parallel to his Abitur. First he studied double bass and piano at the music academy there (1985 to 1990) and later at the Folkwang University in Essen (1990–92) with Michael Wolf.

He took part in double bass master classes with Michinori Bunya in 1988 and Michael Wolf in 1989 and 1990. From 1989 he worked as a tutti double bass player with the Bremen Philharmonic, the Thuringia Philharmonic Suhl, the Kassel State Theater Orchestra and the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra. Since 1994 he has been a solo double bass player in the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra .

On September 28, 2013, Michael Rosenhoff was awarded the honorary title of "chamber virtuoso" as part of the gala concert for the 50th anniversary of the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra in recognition and appreciation of his many years of activity as solo double bass player of the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra.
