Michael Ruppert (born September 9, 1946 in Wuppertal ) is a German politician of the FDP .

Michael Ruppert graduated from high school in 1966. After completing his military service, he studied politics and social sciences at the Ruhr University in Bochum . In 1972 he became a graduate social scientist. From 1969 to 1972 he worked as a freelance journalist. In 1972 he became a public relations officer at the FDP regional association in North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1972 to 1973 he was a consultant for political adult education at the Wolfgang Döring Foundation . From 1973 to 1974 he headed the press office at the Association of Consulting Engineers in Essen. In the 1974 summer semester, Ruppert was given a teaching position for politics at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences . Michael Ruppert has been a member of the FDP since 1968. From 1974 to 1982 he was a member of the state executive committee, which he has been again since 1992. From 1974 to 1986 he acted as chairman of the Wuppertal district association, since then he has been deputy district chairman. He has been a member of the Düsseldorf District Board since 1974 and a member of the Wuppertal City Council since 1975. In October 1989 he became chairman of the FDP council group.

Michael Ruppert was a member of the 10th and 11th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from May 30, 1985 to May 31, 1995 , into which he entered via the state list.
