Michael Schramm (journalist)

Michael Schramm (* 1959 in Cologne ) is a German television journalist . Since 2017 he has been chief television correspondent at the ARD studio in Rome.

Life

Schramm grew up in Munich. In addition to studying history, he worked for Bayerischer Rundfunk . In 1991 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the "conformity process of the German army 1933 to 1938". He worked for ten years as a freelance film writer for Bayer Radio and became an editor in 1992. At first he worked on topics in the field of social policy, later he was with the program Zeitspiegel and then with Zwischen Spessart und Karwendel .

From March 1, 2010 to 2017 he was director of the ARD studio in Istanbul. He then became chief television correspondent in the ARD studio in Rome.
