Michael Sommer (born December 19, 1968 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Michael Sommer started playing club soccer at SV Rülzheim in the south of the Palatinate and went to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 1985 . In 1987 he joined the professional team from the FCK amateurs and until 1990 he played in 22 league games (one goal) and two cup games for the Red Devils . In 1990/91 he played at Energie Cottbus in the GDR league . In 1991 he switched to VfR Mannheim , where he played in the Regionalliga Süd until 1998, from 1994 onwards . Then he went to SV Sandhausen in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg , where he was still active for a few years.
