Michael Strauven

Michael Strauven (* 1940 in Berlin ) is a German film and television director and author.

Life

Strauven realized numerous actor portraits, documentaries, features and film analyzes on behalf of ARD . He also appeared as a presenter, for example in the ARD Sunday magazine and in the film-critical series Schaukasten , Kinowerkstatt and Berlinale-Studio . For his episode about Romy Schneider , shot as part of the ARD series Legenden , he received the German Critics' Prize in 1998 in the television category. Strauven's film documentary As Love Learned to Walk (1998) about the sex education films of the 1960s and 70s reached a large audience. In 2012, Strauven published a biography of the actor Gert Fröbe .
