Michael W. Friedrich (* 1964 ) is a German biologist and professor for microbial ecophysiology, Department of Biology / Chemistry at the University of Bremen .

Life

Friedrich studied biology in Bochum and Tübingen and did his doctorate (microbiology) at the University of Tübingen . Postdoc in Microbial Ecology at Montana State University , Bozeman, from 1997 working group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology , habilitation (microbiology, 2001) at the Philipps University of Marburg . Since 2008 professor at the University of Bremen.

He and his working group are concerned (as of 2011) with the microbial ecology of anaerobic respiratory processes in prokaryotes .

Teaching

Friedrich teaches in the biology courses (FB 02 Biology / Chemistry) at the University of Bremen.
