Michael Williams (politician)

Michael Jay Williams (born October 16, 1929 ) is a politician from Trinidad and Tobago and was briefly interim president of Trinidad and Tobago in 1987.

Williams was President of the Second Chamber of Parliament, the Senate , from January 12, 1987 to March 12, 1990 .

On March 13, 1987, Williams became President of Trinidad and Tobago for six days after the end of President Ellis Clarke's tenure . On March 19, 1987, Noor Hassanali was elected to succeed Clarke as the new president.
