Michael Zöllner (publisher)

Michael Zöllner (* 1969 in San Sebastián , Basque Country) is a German publisher. Since 2007 he has been Managing Director of Klett-Cotta Verlag together with Tom Kraushaar . On July 31, 2018, Zöllner gave up his publishing activities at his own request in order to begin training as a psychoanalyst in Berlin .

Professional background

  • 1990 - 1994 studies of German, art history and philosophy at the University of Cologne
  • 1992-1996 studied liberal arts at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and at the Hague University of Art. Graduated from the art academy with artist certificate and master class diploma with Walter Nikkels .
  • 1996 Founding of the Tropen Verlag at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. Since then he has worked as a publisher, editor, translator and typographer.
  • 2005 Foundation of Tropen Verlag GmbH together with Tom Kraushaar in Berlin.
  • 2006 Karl Heinz Zillmer Prize for special publishing merits.
  • Since the end of 2007 managing director of Klett-Cotta together with Tom Kraushaar .
