Michael Gustav Zeugin (born September 21, 1977 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss politician ( glp ). He is a member of the Zurich Cantonal Council .

Life

Michael Witness grew up in Hagenbuch ZH . He studied political science at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and at the University of Tel Aviv (Master of Arts in International Affairs and Governance). Since 2011 he has been a member of the management of a Winterthur SME in the area of ​​trust and real estate.

Political career

During his high school years , a witness was involved in the European Youth Parliament and was President of the European Youth Parliament in Switzerland for two years.

From 2006 she was a member of the municipal council (parliamentarian) in Winterthur and in 2010 she was re-elected with the most panaschier votes. In 2012 he narrowly missed the election to the city council of Winterthur. In 2017 he resigned from the local parliament.

In 2011 he was elected to the Cantonal Council (Parliament) of Zurich. He was a member of the Finance Commission there from 2011 to 2019, and has been a member of the management of the Cantonal Council and the glp parliamentary group president since 2019. He sits down u. a. for the reduction of bureaucracy in favor of start-ups and innovations (cf. e.g., Postulate 159/2017 “Start-up economic region Zurich” or Motion 234/2019 “for business-friendly framework conditions thanks to the reduction of bureaucracy through certification competence for lawyers”).

Witness is a founding member and was a board member of the Green Liberal Party of Switzerland from 2007 to 2013 and helped build it. He is a founding member of the Glp Stadt Winterthur and has been a board member since 2005. From 2006 to 2013 he was on the board of the glp Kanton Zurich.

Witness is also a founding member and president of the environmental initiative “Films for the Earth”, which was recognized and recognized by the UNESCO Commission Switzerland in 2009 as an “Activity of the World Decade of Education for Sustainable Development in Switzerland”.

He has also been a member since 2016 and since 2018 Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eco-Renova, a company that buys properties in need of renovation and modernizes them according to sustainable principles. Finally, he is a member of the school commission of the Büelrain Cantonal School.

He lives in Winterthur with his partner and two children.
