Michal Martychowiec (* 1987 in Lublin , Poland ) is a contemporary artist.

Career

Martychowiec studied at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. He graduated with honors. Since then, in addition to his artistic work, he has also worked in teaching and education. He is visiting professor at the Russian Institute for Art History ( Russian Academy of Sciences ) in Saint Petersburg and at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. He commutes between Berlin and China.

Martychowiec's works, which are mostly laid out in larger series, always hermeneutically revolve around an extended topic. They encompass almost all genres of artistic expression. Depending on the question and subject, he uses photography, writes, shoots and produces films, drawings, neons, and designs objects and outdoor sculptures through to entire environments . A new playing field for his invention is the creation of new avatars and other personas.

His inventions are mainly fed by occidental and oriental philosophy, anthropology, art and cultural history, universal historical considerations, the history of religion, literature, archeology and contemporary culture and communication analysis.
