Micheal Zondani Jay Katambo

Micheal Zondani Jay Katambo (born September 16, 1969 ) is a Zambian politician of the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) and currently the Patriotic Front (PF).

Life

Katambo, who has a degree in agricultural science , worked as a farmer and entrepreneur. In 2011 he was elected as a candidate of the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) to the National Assembly of Zambia and has since represented the constituency of Masaiti . In April 2015 he moved to the Patriotic Front (PF) and was re-elected for this in the elections on August 11, 2016 in his constituency. Initially, he was a backbencher and later, between September 2015 and May 2016, a member of the Committee on Government Insurance and the Committee on Legislative Delegation.

In August 2016, Katambo was appointed by President Edgar Lungu to succeed Greyford Monde as Minister of Fisheries and Livestock in his cabinet .
