Michel Gaudin (Prefect of Police)
Michel Gaudin (born August 9, 1948 in Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire ) is a leading French civil servant and since 2007 Prefect of the Paris Police . He is married and has two children.
Gaudin holds a Masters degree in Law and a Diplôme d'études supérieures in Political Science and Public Law. He graduated from the École nationale d'administration and then entered the public service. Via various stations and a. As sub-prefect in the Indre-et-Loire department , general secretary of the prefecture in the Loir-et-Cher department and prefect of the Gard department , he was promoted to national police director (Directeur générale de la Police nationale, DGPN) in 1998.
On May 23, 2007, Nicolas Sarkozy appointed him Prefect of Police of Paris and took up this post on June 11, 2007.
