Michel Giraud

Michel Giraud (born July 14, 1929 in Pontoise , † October 27, 2011 ) was a French politician .

Career

From 1971 to 1992 he was mayor of Le Perreux-sur-Marne and from 1977 to 1988 he was senator for the Val-de-Marne department . Between 1983 and 1992 he was President of the Association of Mayors of France. He was also Chairman of the Regional Council of the Île-de-France from 1976 to 1988 and from 1992 to 1998. From 1993 to 1995 he was Minister of Labor in the cabinet of Prime Minister Édouard Balladur .

After his political career, he has been involved in the Fondation de la deuxième chance since 1998 for the integration of young people.
