Michel Rouche

Michel Rouche (born May 30, 1934 in Paris ) is a French Medievalist , specializing in the history of Gaul in the transition from late antiquity to the early Middle Ages .

His education took place at the Lycée Pierre-d'Ailly in Compiègne . He received his PhD in 1976 and taught at Lille III University from 1969 to 1989. Then he moved to the Institut catholique de Paris and the Sorbonne . His research concerned the end of antiquity and the establishment of Germanic kingdoms, e.g. B. the Visigoths . He also wrote about the history of education and sexuality in the Middle Ages.

Rouche is a staunch Catholic who inspired the family institute in the diocese of Paris . Rouche designed the 1996 colloquium in Reims to commemorate the (historically controversial) baptism of Clovis . Here is Pope John Paul II. Talked to historians, researchers and academics.
