The Michigan AuSable Valley Railroad is a 1: 4 scale park railroad with 406 mm (16 in ) gauge located in Fairview , Michigan . The route runs through the Huron National Forest and Comins Creek Valley.

Black Bear Trestle

The Schrader family began building the station and the 22 m long locomotive shed in 1994. In 1995 seven passenger cars that were originally in service on the Pinconning and Blind River Railroad were restored. From April 15 to December 2, 1996, two wooden trestle bridges up to 67 m long and a 35 m long wood-lined tunnel were built.

Locomotives

Traction Truck (Slug)

The diesel locomotives and a traction truck (slug) were built by the Custom Locomotive Works in Chicago . The oil-fired Hudson steam locomotive No. 5661 was built in 1961 and originally operated on the Pinconning and Blind River Railroad. It runs occasionally on Sundays and public holidays.

Timetable

From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, trains run Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. In the fall of 2015, there was an autumn color tour on the first two weekends in October. Tickets are $ 6.00 for adults and children over two years of age.
