Mickey mast
The Mickey mast is a 32 m high guy mast of a 230 kV overhead line in front of the Osceola substation in Celebration , Florida , on the southern access road to the Walt Disney World Resort .
It represents a stylized Mickey Mouse and consists of a 21.3 m high steel tube on which there is a circular steel tube ring with a diameter of 9.1 m, on which two elliptical steel tube rings with axes of 5.5 m and 6.1 m m are attached. The Mickey mast was made by North American Pole Corp. (NAPCO), Dallas, Texas, USA and Bend-Tec of Duluth, Minnesota, the latter producing the rings. The Mickey mast can be illuminated at night. For this purpose, fiber optic cables are mounted on the ring structures , which are fed by a laser located on the floor. The Mickey mast was completed on February 15, 1996.
