There are two versions available, an American (indoor) and a European (outdoor). In contrast to the European version , the American version only plays with US teams in the hall.
Microprose Soccer is the top view of the game. So-called banana shots are possible, in which you could influence the trajectory after the ball has already left the foot. In addition, games are possible during thunderstorms and rain. Goals are shown again (depending on the setting) in a repetition sequence, before a rewind animation is played.
In addition to the game, some unofficial versions of the Italian group AEG Soft have appeared, such as USA 94 . These versions contain the teams of the respective world championships and often also the official logo.
