Supervision (representation)

Floor plans and supervision of a building

A supervisory or plan view is shown in the drawing, two-dimensional orthogonal projection of a spatial condition. Supervisions are created according to the rules of three-panel projection . The object is viewed from above .

In contrast to the bird's eye view , the top view is a planar representation from which you can measure the dimensions of the object (in the case of true-to-scale representation ).

Top views can be found in technical drawings , but especially in construction drawings . In construction supervisors serve an existing condition documented ( stock plan ) or as part of a planning created. They represent the geometry of the roof landscape of a building . Often one can find roof supervision in site plans .

Surveys can be in the most varied of drawing scales . In CAD programs, the supervision is often referred to using the English terms "Top" or "TopView".

The opposite of supervision is the bottom view in which the object is viewed from below.
