The MicroVAX 78032 , also known as DC333 , is a 32-bit microprocessor which was used by the Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in the MicroVAX II mini-computers introduced in 1985 . The microprocessor was used exclusively in DEC mini-computers and was not available for other computer manufacturers. The MicroVAX 78032 was the first single-chip processor which contained a subset of the instruction set of the Virtual Address eXtension (VAX) - before that multi-chip processors were common at DEC for this application - and which was developed and produced by DEC. It was also the first microchip to be registered under the Semiconductor Chip Protection Act (SCPA) of 1984 in the USA.

The MicroVAX 78032 consists of 125,000 field effect transistors on a the of an area of 8.7 x 8.6 mm (74.82 mm 2 are accommodated). It was manufactured in a DEC-specific “ZMOS process”, an NMOS variant with a structure width of 3 µm in NMOS logic . The die is packaged in a 68-pin SMD housing . The MicroVAX 78032 can be combined with the math coprocessor MicroVAX 78132 (DC337), also manufactured by DEC, for floating point calculations. Both processors are operated with a clock frequency of 5 MHz.

The microprocessor was rebuilt in 1989 in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) under the designation MME U80701 by means of reverse engineering without a license and produced in small numbers in order to make the MicroVAX II system available as K 1820 by bypassing the CoCom embargo in the GDR do. After the fall of the Wall , work on it was stopped.
