Microsoft Band 2 is a smartwatch with fitness tracker function that was developed by Microsoft and released in the United States on October 30, 2015 . Volume 2 has been available in Australia since November 12 and in Great Britain since November 19 as the first EU country . The market launch in Canada took place on November 20, 2015. Volume 2 is the successor to the 2014 Microsoft volume .
Like its predecessor, Volume 2 has an optical heart rate monitor , an acceleration sensor , a gyrometer , GPS , a photodetector , a skin temperature meter , a UV sensor, a capacitive sensor , a sensor for measuring the electrical resistance of the skin and a microphone . Compared to the first version, Volume 2 also contains a barometer , which increases the number of sensors to eleven. The new round design should make it more comfortable to wear than the previous model.
On December 14, 2015, Microsoft presented a charging station for Volume 2 .
For developers, Microsoft provides an SDK called "Band SDK" with which you can access the built-in sensors. The SDK is available for the Windows , Android and iOS platforms .
