The Midnight Plateau is a striking, icy plateau at over 2,200 m in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is the central formation of the Darwin Mountains in the Transantarctic Mountains .
Participants in the 1962 to 1963 campaign as part of New Zealand's Victoria University's Antarctic Expeditions discovered and named the plateau. Name derives from the fact that the expedition to the plateau on December 27, 1962 midnight ( English midnight ) achieved.
