Midob (also spelled Meidob) is the language of the Midob in the Sudanese province of North Darfur . It is part of the Nubian language family . The Midob call their language tìd-n-áal , which can be translated as “Mouth of Midob”, and they refer to themselves as tìddí (singular), tìd (plural). Two main dialects are spoken, Urrti and Kaageddi.

Research on the Midob has recently been published by Thelwall (1983) and Werner (1993) - both studies deal with the Urrti dialect.
