Miekenhagen is a part of the municipality of Satow in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).

Miekenhagen is located about 22 kilometers southwest of Rostock and three kilometers west of Satow. The junction Kröpelin of the federal highway 20 can be reached in one kilometer. The place is about 65 m above sea level. NHN in a valley. With the exception of the south, the area dominated by arable land rises on all sides. Named elevations are the 89.5 meter high Glashütte mountain in the northeast, the 83.5 meter high Schnakenberg in the northwest and the 97.8 meter high Buchenberg and the 88 meter high Eulenberg in the southwest.

In Miekenhagen there are about 50 residents and 12 houses. Most of the land around and in Miekenhagen belongs to the Hohen Luckow estate or is privately owned.

history

Miekenhagen was first mentioned in a document in 1224. It was a farming village that belonged to Gut Siemen until 1582. The heir from Gerdshagen sold it in 1790. The estate belonged to the Mutzenbecher family (Hamburg) until 1903 and was then sold to the Thormann family. There is an ice cellar on the grounds of the estate, which is a listed building.

Miekenhagen was already part of the municipality of Satow from July 1, 1950 to the end of 1959, and then a part of the municipality of Radegast until June 30, 2003. With the dissolution of the office of Satow and the merger of the municipalities that were previously part of the office to form the new municipality of Satow, Miekenhagen became part of the municipality of Satow.
