Apartment building Bürgerwiese 22
The tenement house Bürgerwiese 22 (also Dianabad ) in Dresden was built in 1900 as a luxurious tenement house. The house was destroyed in the air raids on Dresden in 1945.
description
The facade in a "close amalgamation" of Neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau showed a "particularly high design effort", which resulted in "extraordinary" construction costs. The expensive Palais was designed by Felix Reinhold Voretzsch , who ran an architecture office in Dresden's Victoriahaus . He had built it as a four-storey city palace in Art Nouveau style within a closed development. It was adorned with a sculpture by Leopold Armbruster . The building was destroyed in 1945 and not rebuilt.
The house was built together with the tenement houses Bürgerwiese 20 and 24 on the site of the “ Villerschen Haus ” and the Seebachschen Haus . The former was built by Woldemar Hermann in 1839 for Frédéric de Villers as an "extensive building". Both were demolished for the construction of the Diana bath.
