Miguel de Oliveira
Miguel de Oliveira (born September 30, 1947 in São Manuel , São Paulo , Brazil ) is a former Brazilian boxer and world champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC) in the light middleweight division .
Career
He won his first 30 fights, most of them by knockout. In his 31st fight he entered against the Japanese Kōichi Wajima for the world title of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the WBC and failed in a draw. The rematch, which took place in February of the following year and in which it was again about the world titles of the WBC and WBA, Oliveira lost by majority decision.
On May 7, 1975 he won the vacant WBC world title against José Durán by a unanimous victory on points. He lost it, however, in his first title defense on November 13 of the same year to Elisha Obed .
