Mihály Tóth (football player, 1926)

Mihály Tóth (born September 14, 1926 in Budapest , † March 7, 1990 ) was a Hungarian football player .

Tóth played from 1949 to 1963 for Újpesti Dózsa and between 1949 and 1957 six times for the Hungarian national football team , where he scored one goal. In the final of the soccer world championship in 1954 he competed against Germany and was runner-up.

With his club team, Tóth, who was mainly used on the left wing, became champions of Hungary in the 1959/60 season. He played for Újpesti Dózsa, in those years also known as Újpest TE and Budapest Dózsa , 238 league games and scored 41 goals.

Tóth was the older brother of József Tóth , often listed as "Toth II", who also took part in the 1954 World Cup with the Hungarian national football team.
