Mika Yoshizawa ( Japanese 吉澤 美 香 , Yoshizawa Mika ; * 1959 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese painter and university teacher .

Mika Yoshizawa studied at the Tama Art School in Tokyo, where she graduated in 1984. She is currently a professor there .

In her works, Mika Yoshizawa makes everyday objects such as irons, light bulbs and spice containers the starting point of her work.

“Her work, which she applies directly to the wall, is created from an amorphous surface of different types of paper, vinyl strips and other materials. She mainly uses white and off-white as the color, with black lines made of charcoal creating the spatial effect. Although other items such as cut paper, printed materials, vinyl tape, and the like are also included. have a comparable function in the composition as the lines, but these remain the main characteristic for the different expressive values ​​of the pictures. "
