Mikael Mikael (* 1974 ) is a German artist .

Life

Mikael Mikael grew up in Wiesbaden. He studied fine arts at the Berlin University of the Arts and at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts . He then worked as a VJ in the Berlin club scene. In 2009 he received a scholarship from the Berlin Senate for a stay in New York. In 2011 he was a scholarship holder of the Akademie Schloss Solitude .

Mikael Mikael's works are designed as interventions in physical and discursive public space. Installative settlements are documented in photography and video, whereby the documentations can be regarded as independent works. In November 2011, a work by Mikael Mikael appeared in a photo of Israeli activists who used the poster with the words "Show you are not afraid" to show their solidarity with the Egyptian blogger Aliaa Magda Elmahdy .
