Mike MacKenzie

Mike MacKenzie (born November 18, 1958 in Oban ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party (SNP). MacKenzie attended Allan Glen's School and then went to Glasgow University . In 1980 he and his wife moved to the small and very sparsely populated island of Easdale , one of the Slate Islands . There he first worked as a fisherman and then founded a construction company.

For the first time MacKenzie ran in the Scottish parliamentary elections 2011 for national elections. He applied for a mandate from the Highlands and Islands electoral region . As a result of the election result, MacKenzie won one of the seven regional mandates and moved into the Scottish Parliament for the first time .
