Michael Robert "Mike" Tauchman (born December 3, 1990 in Palatine , Illinois ) is an American baseball player in Major League Baseball (MLB) on the position of outfielders . He currently plays for the New York Yankees .
College and Minor Leagues
Tauchman attended William Fremd High School in Palatine. He played on the high school baseball team and was also the quarterback for the American football team. After high school he attended Bradley University , where he played baseball on the Bradley Braves team. In 2013, he was named Best Baseball Player at the Missouri Valley Conference .
The Colorado Rockies selected Tauchman in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB Draft . In 2015, Tauchman played in Double-A for the New Britain Rock Cats and he had a batting average of .294. A year later he played in the Pacific Coast League (PCL), a triple-A league , for the Albuquerque Isotopes. He had a slightly worse batting average of .286 this year, but he was able to score more points and convince his coaches that he could make his MLB debut in the Rockies jersey in June 2017.

In 2017 he played 32 MLB games in the Rockies jersey and had a batting average of .222 at the end of the season. In the 2018 season, Tauchman was reappointed to the Triple-A to the Albuquerque Isotopes. He made 112 games for the Isotopes and was named PCL Player of the Week for the week of May 14-20, 2018. That week, Tauchman hit a .417 batting average, made eight points , hit five home runs and stole 27 bases. In the same year he also played 21 games for the Rockies in the MLB, but he could not convince there with a batting average of .094.

On March 23, 2019, the Rockies Tauchman traded Phil Diehl to the New York Yankees .
