Mike Wissenbach (born April 23, 1962 in Berlin ) is a former German boxer . As a professional boxer, he was German super middleweight champion .

Life

Wissenbach was in the ring for the first time as a professional boxer in May 1981, the fight against Walter Nickel ended in a draw. At the end of January 1987 he fought in Bielefeld for the German middleweight championship, but lost against Hamburg's Andreas Prox  on points. In mid-August 1987 there was a rematch against Prox, the second duel between the two was held in the Hamburg sports hall in Wandsbek. Prox hit Wissenbach in the third round with a low blow, which then went down. The Bund Deutscher Berufsboxer decided not to score the fight, so Prox remained German champion. At the end of October 1987, Prox and Wissenbach faced each other for the third time in Hof . The fight ended in a draw, so Prox retained the title.

At the end of July 1988, Wissenbach fought against Josef Kossmann in Timmendorfer Strand for the German championship title in the super middleweight division and won through technical Ko. Wissenbach defended the title successfully three times in a row. In mid-February 1990, he went to Hamburg against Patrick Pipa and lost the fight for the vacant German middleweight championship title on points. This was also Wissenbach's last appearance as a professional boxer.

As a trainer, Wissenbach worked in the youth and professional fields (at the Pollex Box Promotion). Wissenbach has been a referee and referee for many years.
