life and work

Not much is known about Miki's life. He was in Hyōgo Prefecture and studied in Kyoto under Takeuchi Seihō . He exhibited within the Nihonga department at the state exhibitions, the “Mombushō bijutsu tenrankei” (文部省 美術展 覧 会), and its successor “Teikoku bijutsu tenrankei” (帝国 美術展 覧 会). In 1924 he designed two series of 6 sheets of woodcuts with the title "Shinsen Kyōto meisho" (新 選 京都 名 所), which depict well-known views in Kyoto. They were published by the publisher Saitō Shōtarō (佐藤 章 太郎). One series consisted of six prints of beautiful women, the other eight prints of landscapes. Both series were shown for the first time in 1930 at the Toledo Museum of Art in the USA.
