Microstructure (lexicography)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In lexicography and encyclopedia in a dictionary or comparable reference work, microstructure is the linearly ordered set of information that follows the lemma . The main part is the meaning part with definitions and explanations of meanings, syntactic and semantic dependencies of context partners as well as naming synonyms and antonyms . A further distinction is made between the concrete and the abstract hierarchical microstructure.

The definition of the term microstructure is controversial; Sun expects Hausmann all information about a lemma and the lemma even the microstructure, while Rey-Debove thus referred only linearly ordered set of data that follow the lemma.
