Mikveh (Hürben)

Mikveh in Hürben (around 1928)

The mikveh in Hürben , a former place that has belonged to the town of Krumbach in the Swabian district of Günzburg in Bavaria since 1902 , was built in 1833 at Synagogengasse 10. The mikvah looked like a Babylonian gate (see photos).

The mikvah, north of the synagogue across the street, had to be forcibly sold by the Jewish community in 1938. The new owner initially used it as a goat barn. In 1945 the former mikvah was converted into a residential building, and the supporting walls of the mikveh, which protruded to the side, were integrated into the residential building.
