Milan Đuričić

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Milan Đuričić (born August 3, 1945 in Osijek ) is a Croatian football coach and former football player.

He spent his playing career in Yugoslavia with his two parent clubs NK Osijek and Vojvodina Novi Sad . He ended this quite early because a serious injury made professional sport impossible. After the end of his professional career, he was accepted into the coaching staff of Vojvodina Novi Sad. Soon he got the chance to return to his Croatian club NK Osijek as a coach.

In 1989 he left his homeland to try his luck abroad. His destination was France where he worked for 4 years. After his dismissal from the club OSC Lille , he was called by DSV Leoben . In 1992 he signed a one-year contract there because he wanted to be closer to his home. He drew attention to himself through his successful guest appearance and he received a one-year contract with Bundesliga club SK Sturm Graz . Due to financial problems, he was in the process of rebuilding and the club's management considered Đuričić, known as a youth sponsor, to be the right man to build up a young, powerful troop. He managed to stay up with his team and made sure that they were physically and tactically up to date.

After his contract in Graz was not extended, he switched to SK Vorwärts Steyr . With the club he reached the UI Cup . The second season was very weak, which is why he was dismissed after a few games. Đuričić went back to his homeland and in 1996 again took over his home club NK Osijek. Only three years later he came back to Austria and trained for the second time with DSV Leoben. But even with his second coaching station in Leoben, he was not completely happy. Therefore, after two years, he said goodbye to the south again. There he found a new employer in the NK Maribor .

In the summer of 2006 he was surprisingly presented as the new coach of ASKÖ Pasching, which acted as FC Superfund . Here, too, the club's president, Franz Grad, named čuričić's concession with his salary demands as one of the arguments that spoke for him. The team remained undefeated under Đuričić for ten games and were in second place in the table. Just as surprisingly as his presentation went, he resigned as Pasching's trainer on October 24, 2006. He gave personal reasons - Đuričić had been criticized by fans for his defensive style of play in the weeks before.
