Milk can

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A milk jug ( Swiss milk boiler ) is a transport and storage of milk serving vessel .

The jug, traditionally made of aluminum or enamelled sheet steel - later also made of plastic - and in different sizes is provided with a plug-in lid or a clip-on lid construction. Smaller jugs are equipped with a swiveling handle, larger jugs with double handles.

With technical developments, the transport of milk in bulk has been replaced in retail by milk packaging in the form of milk bottles , milk bags , Tetra Paks, etc. and in wholesaling by milk containers . The end consumer mainly uses plastic containers, which are often no longer reminiscent of conventional milk cans, when selling milk on the farm .

A square milk jug (3.785 liters) is sold in the United States and Canada .
