The Verreaux's Eagle-Owl ( Bubo lacteus ), also Blassuhu called, is one in Africa widespread owl -Art. It occurs in so-called gallery forests , forest areas with clearings and thinly wooded savannas .

He reaches a height of 53 to 61 cm and has a clearly rounded head. The upper plumage is reddish brown.

Its prey animals include guinea fowl , rock rats , hyrax , hedgehogs , francolin , mice , snakes and fruit bats .

The dairy cow usually nests in the eyries of birds of prey. He also accepts the nests of the hammer head as a nesting opportunity. It only occasionally nests in tree hollows.

The breeding season falls in the African dry season , the clutch consists of one to three eggs.
