Milen Nachev

Milen Natschew ( Bulgarian Милен Начев ; born October 1, 1957 in Silistra ) is a Bulgarian conductor . He is currently a permanent guest conductor of the Romanian National Orchestra and Choir. He lives in the USA .

Natschew began playing the piano at the age of five. His music studies took him to Sofia , Saint Petersburg , Siena and Dijon . In 1983 he was appointed chief conductor of the State Opera in Ruse ; later he was appointed to the same post at the National Opera in Sofia. In 1995 Natschew was nominated for life as chief conductor by the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra; concert tours across Europe followed.

Natschew is particularly well known for his highly expressive conducting style.
