Millikan is an impact crater in the northern hemisphere on the far side of the moon and therefore can not be directly observed from Earth . It is north of HG Wells crater and southwest of Von Békésy crater .
Millikan's outline is essentially circular and clearly delineated, but with some irregularities. In the south and east there are smaller bulges where the ridge has slipped slightly inward. The inner walls of the crater are unstructured and have no terraces, as shown, for example, by the smaller Cantor crater to the south . The crater floor is relatively flat and marked by a small, bowl-shaped crater north of the center point. A low central peak rises from the center to the west. Otherwise, the crater floor is pitted from a number of tiny impacts.
