Milltown Malbay , also Miltown Malbay ( Irish : Sráid na Cathrach ), is a place and parish in County Clare in the west of the Republic of Ireland .

Milltown Malbay is located between Lahinch in the north and Kilkee in the south near the Atlantic coast on the national road N67 and had a population of 829 in the 2016 census ; since 2006 the population has increased by almost 50%.

The Parish of Milltown Malbay includes the village of Spanish Point ( Rinn na Spáinneach ), which is home to a large number of holiday homes and is the birthplace of long-time Irish President Patrick Hillery .

Milltown Malbay was on the West Clare Railway network, which operated between 1887 and 1961.
