Milorad Krstić

Milorad Krstić (* 1952 in Dornberk , Yugoslavia ) is a Hungarian painter , multimedia artist , photographer and filmmaker of Slovene descent.

Life

According to his parents' wishes, Krstić first studied law . After completing his studies, he devoted himself entirely to art. When the Yugoslav wars began in 1991 , he moved from Vojvodina to Budapest , where he now lives and works and received Hungarian citizenship.

In 1995 he received a Silver Bear / Jury Prize in the short film category at the Berlinale for his eight-minute film My Baby Left Me .

With the 96-minute animated film Ruben Brandt, Collector (Hungary 2018), Krstić showed that his short film was not a “one-day fly”, but a stage of the filmmaker. He wrote the script and directed it. In terms of content, the action-packed animated film thriller is about a psychopath who orders numerous works of art to be stolen. The turbulent events are aesthetically demanding and characterized by black humor . According to IMDb, the film, which premiered on August 9, 2018 at the Locarno Film Festival , will be available in Hungarian, Italian and English.
