Milos Bicanski

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Milos Bicanski is a Greek press photographer . He photographs for the international agency Getty Images , among others .

Bicanski lives in Athens and works on various topics. From 2009 he documented the increasing decline of Greek society and refugees on their way to Europe.

In Germany, the AfD- Kreisverband Stade used a picture taken by Bicanski in 2009 and falsified it. A flyer on internal security in the Stade district read “Rule of law on the ground”. The statement was supported by a photo in which an activist beats a police officer. The AfD published the photo without any source reference. On the back of the racket you can see the logo of the “ anti-fascist campaign ”.

In fact, the photo of Bicanski was taken during riots in Greece in 2009 and published in the British newspaper "The Guardian". The Antifa logo was mounted in the picture. Milos Bicanski said that the AfD had not asked him and therefore had no publication rights. As a result of the assembly, it was not only a copyright infringement but also a forgery. The author Lars Seemann from the AfD in Apensen spoke of “a strongly alienated symbolic photo” and said that the processing was legal.
