Milton Peláez

Milton Ramón Eliseo Peláez Matos (born April 15, 1945 in Barahona , † July 4, 2006 in Santo Domingo ) was a Dominican rock musician, composer and comedian.

In addition to violin training, Peláez studied medicine and psychiatry. As early as 1959 he founded Los Happy Boys with the actor Pericles Mejía , José Manuel Henriquez (Mané), Jorge Taveras and Mac Cordero , where he acted as a drummer and band leader. It was the first rock band in the Dominican Republic. She made her debut thanks to the moderators Pepe Bonilla and Tutín Beras Goico in the program El 777 on Antena Latina and was the local counterpart when Bill Haley and his Comets performed at the Teatro Agua y Luz in Santo Domingo. Carmencita , Todo lo que tengo and Viejito Yeyé were the first Dominican rock songs in Spanish and were composed and sung by Peláez.

With Freddy Beras Goico , Felipe Polanco , Cuquín Victoria and Cecilia García , Peláez was also very successful in the humorous television show 4x4 . On July 4, 2006, he was shot dead in an argument with a friend over debt.
